Placitas Artists Series Rings in the Decade with Horn, Violin and Piano

Horn player Peter Erb, violinist Jenna Sherry and pianist Luke Gullickson present a program with Brahms Horn Trio in E-flat Major, horn trio by Duvernoy and many more.

Principal horn player for the NM Philharmonic since 2013, Peter Erb, returns for his third time to Placitas Artists Series.  For the January 19 program, he has organized a concert of works for horn, violin and piano, calling it a “tour de force program with my good friends, London-based violinist Jenna Sherry and pianist Luke Gullickson.”  The program covers nearly two hundred years of repertoire ending with the monumental work   Brahms Horn Trio in E-flat Major, written in 1865 in memory of his mother, who died that year. Included on the program are a horn trio by Duvernoy; Robert Schumann’s Adagio and Allegro for horn and piano; Romances for violin and piano by Clara Schumann; and six short pieces for horn, violin and piano by contemporary Danish composer Hans Abrahamson.
