Flyer

Ride the Pink Horse is a 1947 film noir set in rural New Mexico. A war vet (played by Robert Montgomery) tracks down a profiteer who had his buddy killed. Wanda Hendrix, Thomas Gomez (who won an Oscar for best supporting actor), and Fred Clark co-starred and Montgomery also directed. The film is notable in local history because it includes footage of Zozobra; because Taos’s Tio Vivo Carousel was the model for the carousel in the film; and because part of the movie was filmed at the La Fonda Hotel in Santa Fe. The film, based on the novel by Dorothy B. Hughes, is not rated. [NR]
