Exploring Water on Mars! with Ryan Jackson, UNM PhD Student
Rocks store a record of the environment in which they were laid down, whether that environment was a river, lake, ocean, or a field of sand dunes. This holds true on the Earth as well as Mars. Ryan’s current work with the Martian rovers is showing that the history of Mars includes rivers and lakes! These are not too different from what was present on Earth in the same ancient time period. In this Café, try your hand at maneuvering a miniature robotic rover, and discover how we can use rocks to understand the water history of Mars.
FREE Teen Science Cafés meet from 5:30–7pm at Explora and do not require registration!
