Wild Hearts Gallery invites the public to attend the opening reception for Jewelry artists Rosemary Breehl and Geri Verble on Friday, February 7, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Their annual jewelry show, “Tokens of Affection; From the Heart” will be on display from February 4 thru March 1.

The artists will exhibit necklaces, bracelets, earrings and statement pendants in a variety of media including tribal beads, sterling silver and hand-tooled copper. These one-of-a-kind pieces are perfect for Valentine gift giving. Light refreshments will be served at the reception. Wild Hearts Gallery is located in Placitas, at the Homestead Village, 221-B State Highway 165, 2 ½ miles from I-25.

Rosemary Breehl’s artistic journey has been one of experimentation and wonder. She is best known for her affordable and lightweight earrings made from aluminum or silver wire, but she also creates a variety of pendants and necklaces, often incorporating tiny collages and original watercolor images. Her work has evolved to include mixed metals and more complicated designs, that usually start with flat metal sheets, which are cut, hammered, soldered, fired, polished and coaxed into her vision.

Geri Verble is renowned for her tribal and ethnic jewelry. She developed her passion for collecting ethnic beads and pendants while traveling with the Peace Corps and that passion has lasted a lifetime. She enjoys sharing these treasures through the design of unique pieces of jewelry. Featured this year, are handcrafted Mexican sacred heart pendant necklaces.

In the spirit of Placitas business community support, Blades’ Bistro and Wild Hearts Gallery have partnered to bring you a special way to complete your evening on February 7th, by offering a free appetizer or free dessert with your Gallery purchase. See the gallery or restaurant for details.

On Monday, February 10, from 10:30 am - 12 pm, a jewelry workshop will be offered at the gallery. Participants will create a heart and pearl lariat necklace, which will be displayed at the gallery. The cost for the class is $10. Registration and payment for the class begins on Saturday, February 1st at the gallery. The class is limited to 10 participants.

Wild Hearts Gallery is an artists' collective, supported by 15 longtime local artists. Wild Hearts Gallery is open Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
