Gardening Beyond the Gravel Pit

The Xeric Garden Club presents Diane Stevenson speaking on Gardening Beyond the Gravel Pit Landscape: Creating Sustainably Cool Patches in our gardens. Even in the arid southwest, gardeners can create microclimates at home that provide cooling using native and native-adapted plants, benefitting people and wildlife in the process. We have the ability to reduce heat islands and create sustainable landscapes by using trees and other vegetation, water harvesting and conservation, and more. She will walk through the science and her love of gardening that creates sustainably cool patches in the landscape, benefitting all the populations in the neighborhood. Piñon room at the Albuquerque Garden Center, 10120 Lomas Blvd NE. For further information go to www.xericgardenclub.org Follow us on Facebook.
