The Smart Microgrid with Rudy Montoya, UNM Research Assistant
Not too long ago, power failures were catastrophic events that would disrupt thousands of families, businesses, and city/state infrastructure. Rudy is a mechanical engineer working to change the structure of today’s electrical grid system to intelligently manage power changes, incorporate sustainable energy, and to increase the efficiency of the current grid.
Teen Science Cafés (aka. Café Scientifique) are informal teen-friendly presentations and activities with local scientists, engineers, and other professionals. They offer hands-on demos or activities and local career connection opportunities, to help spark interest in STEM career options. Free admission; snacks. No advance registration required.
