Short class examines various properties of today's wide range of knit fabrics and discusses patterns terminology.
Explains what patterns mean when they say "two-way" and "4-way" stretch and how that applies to your fabric choices. We will also discuss proper seaming, stabilizing, neck/arm finishes and hemming methods for knits. Bring your knit fabrics, if you already have them, or the special patterns you have already purchased, but are unsure about matching the correct knit to complement them. The teacher will bring examples of different knits sewn into garments for class examination. If you already have a knit disaster, bring it along...we will discuss what went wrong and whether salvage is possible! Supplies: Bring your sewing machines, thread and stretch and/or ball point needles so you can "practice" on some scraps.
