Tyler, The Creator isn’t one to shy away from profanity or controversy. Widely criticized for his homophobic, misogynistic and violent lyrics, he possesses as many rabid fans as virulent critics. I’ve only browsed his work, but I loved internet music guru John Book’s Tyler vs. Kathleen Hanna mashup, “Cock Out.” He’s perhaps most well-known as a co-founder and member of Odd Future, but Tyler’s solo work is what hardcore/hip-hop fans will thrill to on Friday, April 5. This 13-and-over concert kicks off at 7 p.m. at Sunshine Theater (120 Central SW), and advance tickets are $22.50.
