Prize-fighter Davy Gordon intervenes when private dancer Gloria Price is being attacked by her employer and lover Vincent Raphello. This brings the two together and they get involved with each other, which displeases Raphello. He sends men out to kill Davy, but they instead kill his friend. Kubrick Meets KiMo

The staff at the KiMo Theatre has assembled an epic tribute to the most cinematic of directors, Stanley Kubrick. The Stanley Kubrick Retrospective will span the filmmaker’s entire career and will feature 11 of his films—from 1955 to 1999. The event starts this Saturday, May 25, with Kubrick’s first feature, the 1955 film noir Killer’s Kiss. Following Killer’s Kiss will be the 1956 crime film The Killing on June 1. On June 22, it’s the 1957 war drama Paths of Glory, and on June 29, it’s the Oscar-winning Biblical epic Spartacus (both of which star Kirk Douglas). Future screenings include Dr. Strangelove (July 13), 2001: A Space Odyssey (July 20), A Clockwork Orange (July 27), Barry Lyndon (Aug. 3), The Shining (Aug. 17), Full Metal Jacket (Aug. 31) and Eyes Wide Shut (Sept. 7). This is a terrific way to get immersed in the work of a master filmmaker. The only thing missing is 1962’s Lolita. All films are on Saturday evenings and all start at 7 p.m. Tickets ($5-$7) are available at
