Discover Valle de Oro, the Southwest’s first urban wildlife refuge.

Just a few miles south New Mexico’s largest metropolitan area, this urban refuge offers unique environmental education and recreation opportunities while promoting the mission of the refuge system to protect wildlife and their habitats. As a part of President Obama’s America’s Great Outdoors initiative, the Valle de Oro is working with community partners to establish a 21st century conservation ethic; reconnecting people, especially young people, to the natural world. Speaker: Jennifer Owen-White, Refuge Manager
Brown Bag Lectures: This series of informal lunchtime lectures presents the science of conservation. Brown Bag lectures take place twice a month on Thursdays and Saturdays, alternating between the Aquarium/Botanic Garden and the Zoo.

Seminar is included with regular aquarium admission.
