Prosers and poets, artists and explorers can all find something to love in Richard Levy Gallery’s latest exhibition, formally opening on Saturday, June 9. Eric Tillinghast’s Þyngdarljóð, or Gravity’s Poetry in English, is comprised of lightboxes that depict waterfalls the artist studied during a two month stint in Iceland. The light boxes are activated by internal mechanics that bring life and movement to the pieces. Tillinghast has been working with water as material for sculpture for more than two decades—to exciting and beautiful effect. What kid didn't set up their stuffed animals and pretend they were at a zoo? Luckily for those kids, Wildlife West Nature Park is offering Junior Zookeeper Day Camp. From 9am to noon on Monday, June 11 through Friday, June 15 kids ages 8 to 12 learn zookeeping techniques, animal enrichment, and the biology of native plants and wildlife. This week-long camp allows children to be close to wildlife in a safe environment, namely Bob the bobcat and four gray foxes. This engaging event is $30 for families living in Santa Fe County and $70 for families outside of Santa Fe County.
