As if the first two iterations weren't enough to permanently send you and your eternal soul—we're pretending they're separate things for the sake of rocanrol, y'all—straight to a place filled with the sonic, supernatural likenesses of all your favorite super-heavy musical all-stars, then these next two iterations ought to do the trick. That incantation said, please do yourself a solid and roll on down to the fabled Launchpad for this now traditional display of Burque's allegiance to the dark one. For realz, it will be a fun and innocent time with practically everyone wearing a costume! On Friday, Oct. 26 and Saturday, Oct. 27 at 7pm each night, dig some local bands—including but not limited to Russian Girlfriends as AC/DC, Shitty and the Terribles as Radio Bird Man, Marty Described Eternity as Built to Spill, Shadow Creeps as The Ramones, Moonshine Blind as The Clash, Sorry Guero as Ludacris and Cobra vs. Mongoose as Bad Brains—acting out some of our doomed world's most fiercely rocking fantasies. Afterwards you may finally understand what the word “taboo” really means. We'd urge you to go to at least one of these. You know what's at stake, rockers; the black mass is imminent and all that shit—if you are 21+, that is. Tickets are $5 in advance or $10 at the door. Capitalizing on “Stranger Things” seems obvious enough, but how? Action figures? Costumes? Posters? Probably. But the most fascinating and intriguing incarnation of the series' marketing comes from the Stranger Things Arcade Carnival and Reptilian Lounge held once again at Tractor Wells Park. Some of the shit you'll see is actually strange and some is just fun and '80s-themed, but either way, you'll have a raucous good time! On Saturday, Oct. 27 kicking off at 7pm, hear live music throughout the evening from Flo Faders, The Despots and Prism Bitch. Play one of the 23 nostalgic, vintage arcade games available. Have the future foretold by a fortune teller or receive a spanking from Self Serve's booth. Oh, that's not enough to keep you entertained? Well, Tricklock Company performs at 10pm and there is a circus tent in the parking lot filled with live performances beyond belief. Grab $15 from the wallet and those over 21 can have an evening well worth the cover.
