Virtual Reality
Buboni-Virtual ConThanks to decades of cosplay, sci-fi/fantasy/horror/comic book fans have no problems wearing masks. But it’s still not quite time for large public gatherings. So Albuquerque’s long-standing genre-loving convention Bubonicon (52 years and counting!) has opted to host a Buboni-Virtual Con in 2020. This daylong online event includes panel discussions with authors and artists, readings, talks and even a workshop from local comic book creators 7000 BC. Becky Chambers Books, Keith R.A. DeCandito, Chaz Kemp Illustration, Connie Willis, Rebecca Roanhorse, Lauren Teffeau, S.M. Sterling, Jane Linskold, Dr. Cathy Plesko, Courtney Willis and Elizabeth Leggett are among the expected guests. Admission to this all-ages event is free. For complete details head to the Bubonicon Facebook page. (Devin D. O’Leary)
