If beads are what you’re after, you can find thousands from all over the world at Elinor Oldham’s Art & Bead Gallery. Oldham also carries dozens of fine art pieces, jewelry, earrings, decorative pots and tons of trinkets. You won’t have to know what you’re looking for when you walk into the gallery—a few minutes of browsing should have your head jam-packed with possibilities.

Record Round Up

With a monstrous selection of CDs, especially in the metal and hip-hop arenas, it’s easy to see why Record Round Up has been a fixture in New Mexico music retail for half a century. You can spend hours scoping out rare and imported albums, posters, and, of course, plenty of records for the wax-head in the family.

Micki Thomas and her husband were looking for a store in town that sold reasonably priced, small ATVs. "We realized there weren’t any," Thomas says. "So we opened up our own store." There are more expensive ATVs, but you can also find items like pocket bikes (little bikes for kids, ridden by Dane Cook in Employee of the Month ) that’ll run you just over $300. There are also stocking-stuffer items like goggles, gloves and snazzy helmets.

New Mexico Symphony Orchestra Box Office

For about the price of a movie ticket ($12), you can get your lucky gift recipient into a New Mexico Symphony Orchestra concert. Tickets sans service charges aren’t the only things available for purchase at NMSO’s box office: You can also pick up NMSO CDs and other gifts for the classical music lover on your list.
