You like it! You really like it! Jambo Cafe, once just a Santa Fe secret, has become Albuquerque’s darling. Alibi readers voted Jambo Cafe number one in a number of categories (check out Miscellany—it won a ton there) and we can see why. Chef Ahmed Obo’s unique food—both vegetarian and non-veggie—makes our mouth water. Try the coconut tofu curry, an appetizer of savory stuffed phyllo (filled with spinach, olives, feta, chickpeas and red peppers) or the jerk tofu sandwich. No matter what you choose, you know it’s going to be delicious; the polls don’t lie. (TG)

And here we see the elusive vegan roaming the streets for their next meal. Vegans rarely leave the den with the distrust of others inadvertently adding animal products to the delicacy, rendering it inedible for even the most lax of vegan predators. Something substantial must be in the air to pique this animal’s interest. The Acre is grilling, baking and serving up a bit of vegan heaven. Make sure to check out the “steak” on your next visit. Best Of Burque Restaurants 2018 Best Vegetarian Chile

Even though Tia Betty Blue’s chile sauces are made with meat (the red chile has pork; the green chile is made with chicken stock), they make it abundantly clear that they offer vegan, gluten-free versions of both chile sauces. It’s this dedication to inclusion (plus they’re damn tasty) that beat out the competition and named Tia Betty Blue’s Best Vegetarian Chile. Both chiles are spicy and made in-house. Just another level of quality they believe in. (TG)
