Best Brewery

TIE: Marble Brewery / Steel Bender Brewyard

french press

With great indoor and outdoor seating areas, excellent brews, live music, board games and food trucks standing by, it’s no wonder Marble Brewery is packed on any given afternoon/evening. Steel Bender Brewyard also ties as the winner for Best Brewery. An intriguing and moderately priced menu which includes the “brewer’s board” sampler and the vegetarian seitan wings compliments the beer menu nicely. Add an inviting atmosphere and you’ve got the perfect place to hang out and unwind. (CM)

Gruet Winery

Founded in 1984 and specializing in sparkling wines, this local winery has received accolades from various wine and spirit publications and is talked about by sommeliers near and far. Family owned and operated, the winery offers tasting rooms in both Santa Fe and Albuquerque. The knowledgeable staff will steer you in the right direction. Stop in and enjoy a glass of bubbly! (CM)

2) Casa Rondeña Winery

Broken Trail Spirits & Brew

There are two Broken Trail tasting room locations in Albuquerque in addition to the distillery, itself. Try the Holy Ghost Vodka made with locally sourced grain or the Tres Pistolas Whiskey, made with locally sourced corn. 2) Left Turn Distilling

Best Cocktails

Campo at Los Poblanos

Campo does more than dish up Albuquerque’s finest farm-to-table cuisine. They also serve some sublime artisanal cocktails, utilizing as many fresh ingredients from the kitchen garden as possible. Wanna know what beats a PBR in a can any day of the week? How about a Pepino’s Revenge (Pasote Tequila Blanco, cucumber, lime and basil) or a Verano en Oaxaca (Del Maguay Vida Mescal, Campari, grapefruit, Jarritos and seasonal peppers) or a Master and Manzanilla (chamomile infused Manopolowa Vodka, Manzanilla Sherry, lemon and honey). And if you like cocktails with lavender … well, let’s just say Campo has got your number. (D’OL)

3) Apothecary Lounge

Best Coffee Roaster

Cutbow Coffee

Did you know the owner of Cutbow Coffee used to roast for Peet's Coffee? He started his own roasting business named after the cutbow trout in honor of his late father. A percentage of each bag sold is donated to the Hermit's Peak Watershed Alliance which works to help keep water clean in local watersheds and fishing holes. Buy some yummy artisan coffee and help save the planet! (VS)
