Friday 31

“Good Omens” (Amazon Prime streaming anytime) An angel (Michael Sheen) and a demon (David Tennant) join forces to prevent the apocalypse in this miniseries adaptation of the much-loved fantasy novel by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.

“When They See Us” (Netflix streaming anytime) Ava DuVernay (Selma, 13th, A Wrinkle in Time) is the creator behind this docudrama that exposes the breakdown of the US criminal justice system during the infamous “Central Park Five” case.

“Swamp Thing” (DC Direct streaming anytime) DC’s dark and creepy adaptation mixes up the ’70s comics of Len Wein/Bernie Wrightson and the ‘80s comics of Alan Moore/Steve Bissette to tell the story of a rogue scientist who turns into a big green monster.

Deadwood: The Movie (HBO 6pm) Seth Bullock (Timothy Olyphant), Al Swearengen (Ian McShane), Alma Ellsworth (Molly Parker), Doc Cochran (Brad Dourif), Calamity Jane (Robin Weigert), Joanie Stubbs (Kim Dickens) and the rest of the Deadwood residents are reunited, just as the bloody backwater of South Dakota is about to become one of the United States.

“Arthdal Chronicles” (Netflix streaming anytime) Missing some epic fantasy in your life since the passing of “Game of Thrones”? How about trying out this mythical series out of South Korea?

“Ask Dr. Ruth” (Hulu streaming anytime) This biographical documentary chronicles the life of Dr. Ruth Westheimer, America’s most famous sex therapist.

Pride & Prejudice: Atlanta (Lifetime 6pm) Jackée Harry (“227”) and Reginald VelJohnson (“Family Matters”) star in this all-black update of Jane Austen’s already overworked 1813 romance.

Sunday 2

“American Princess” (Lifetime 7pm) After she learns her fiancé has been cheating on her, an Upper East Side socialite (Georgia Flood) runs off to join a Renaissance Faire. Jenji Kohan (“Weeds,” “Orange Is the New Black”) is the executive producer.

“Downton Abby Returns” (KNME-5 7:30pm) The cast and creators of “Downton Abbey” host a sneak-preview look at the upcoming feature film spin-off.

“Perpetual Grace, LTD.” (Epix 8pm) Ben Kingsley and Jacki Weaver star in this (shot-in-Santa Fe) neo-noir about a young grifter who tries to scam a pastor—who turns out to be far more dangerous than you might expect.

“NOS4A2” (AMC 8:05pm) The popular vampire novel by Joe Hill (son to Stephen King) gets a spooky 10-episode TV adaptation.

“The Weekly” (FXX 9:30pm) The New York Times produces a weekly docuseries covering recent news and cultural stories.

“Malibu Rescue” (Netflix streaming anytime) Savage Steve Holland (Better Off Dead, One Crazy Summer) is the mad mind behind this teen adventure series about aspiring junior lifeguards in California.

Tuesday 4

“The Radkes” (USA 9:02pm) Texas mom Melissa Radke is evidently famous for posting parenting videos on YouTube. (Her video on French braiding has been seen more than 10 million times.) Naturally, that’s enough to land her own reality show.

Wednesday 5

“The 2019 CMT Music Awards” (CMT 6pm) Country-type people Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook and Philip Sweet host.
