Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Farewell Play (BET+ streaming anytime) After 20 plays and 11 movies, Tyler Perry puts on the gray wig and glasses for the (allegedly) final time in this telecast of Perry’s 2019 stage tour.
“Pure” (HBO Max streaming anytime) Twenty-four-year-old Marnie’s mind is flooded, 24/7 with uncontrollable X-rated thoughts. Fleeing her tiny Scottish hometown, she ends up in London where she hooks up with a gang of friends, all of whom have their own special quirks, and gets diagnosed with a particularly perverted form of OCD. It’s based on the Rose Cartwright book of the same name.
“Masaba Masaba” (Netflix streaming anytime) This Indian drama is based on the life of West Indian fashion designer Masaba Gupta. It stars Masaba Gupta as herself and her mother, Neena Gupta, as her mother, Neena Gupta. Evidently, they didn’t want to star in a reality show.
Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candice Against the Universe (Disney+ streaming anytime) Disney Channel’s popular animated musical comedy went off the air in 2015, but has lived on in a series of animated features. In this one Phineas and Ferb embark on a journey to rescue their teenage sister Candice from her kidnapping space aliens.
After Truth: Disinformation and the Cost of Fake News (CNN 8pm)
Fake news does exist—and it isn’t just “anyone who criticizes President Trump.” Filmmaker Andrew Rossi (Page One: Inside the New York Times, Ivory Tower, The First Monday in May) takes a look at the real-life consequences that disinformation, conspiracy theories and false news stories have on the average citizen.

“Love Fraud” (Showtime 7pm) This four-part docu-series follows the search for Richard Scott Smith, who used the internet and his dubious charms to prey on unsuspecting women looking for love. The story unravels in real time as Smith's victims band together to seek sweet, sweet revenge. Think of it as the real-world version of “The Bachelor.”
“David Blaine: Ascension” (YouTube Premium TBD) It’s been nearly a decade since “daredevil” street magician and former Leo DiCaprio wingman David Blaine encased himself in ice or performed some other death-defying stunt. Tonight, he’s gonna float over the Hudson river holding on to a bunch of helium balloons. You can watch the livestream on the performer’s YouTube Channel. Time (dependent on weather, perhaps?) has yet to be determined.
“American Ninja Warrior: All Star Skills Challenge” (KOB-4 7pm) The ninjas return from around the world, running the obstacle course in a special skills challenge.
“Bookmarks” (Netflix streaming anytime) Celebrity readers (Tiffany Haddish, Common, Lupita Nyong’o) share children's books by Black authors to “spark kid-friendly conversations about empathy, equality, self-love and antiracism.”
“Transplant” (KOB-4 9:01pm) Summertime? Time to break out the Canadian dramas! In this one, hunky Syrian doctor Bashir "Bash" Hamed (Hamza Haq) flees his war-torn homeland with his younger sister and ends up in Toronto working as a lowly intern.
“Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living” (BET 8pm) Tyler Perry, who has—I honestly can’t figure out—30 or more shows on TV right now (?), adds another. In this one, Leroy Brown (David Mann, who has starred as Mr. Brown in … something like four TV series and nine movies) loses his job and moves his family back to Georgia to help his dad run a retirement home.
