The melancholy romantic memoir from Peter Turner is brought to life by Brit director Paul McGuigan (The Acid House, Lucky Number Slevin). Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot) stars as Turner, a twentysomething wannabe actor who crosses paths with faded, fiftysomething Hollywood starlet Gloria Grahame (played magnificently by Annette Bening) in late-'70s England. The film flashes back and forth between Grahame's ailing final days and her earlier May-December romance with Turner. The film is a simple romantic tragedy with few dramatic complications, but the lead actors share a palpable spark.FULL REVIEW:Wannabe actor meets faded star in romantic memoir by Devin D.
