Slate Street Café (515 Slate Ave NW) is running a South American Wine Tasting, with a light appetizer pairing. Located in Downtown, and held in the comfort of their gorgeous wine loft, Slate Street wine tastings are the perfect way to unwind and spend time with friends, all while getting to enjoy the magic of new wines that will eventually become staples in your regular rotations. Even better, at $20 per person for three tastes, you can do a great night out without spending a ton. You can catch this event Thursday, March 28 at 5pm, or Tuesday, April 2 at 5pm. All ages are welcome, but you must be 21+ to take part in the wine tasting itself. For more information, check out the event on Facebook.
High Point Grill (9780 Coors Blvd NW) is running an all-day Sausage Smoke and Cajun Boil on Saturday, March 30, from 11am to 10pm. Rumor has it crawfish are being flown in day-of from Louisiana, giving you even more reason to be excited. If you’ve never been to a seafood boil before, get ready for a jamboree of flavors and foods unlike anything you’ve had before. Keep an eye out for the Fried Alligator Tenders, which come with a cajun remoulade, or some of the different sausages on sale by the pound. Wrap that up with a Beignets Basket, and you’re gonna be sitting happy for the rest of the day.
Vara Winery (315 Alameda Blvd NE) has been a local favorite for a hot minute now, and they’re upping the ante with a brunch celebration on Sunday the 31 starting at noon. Featuring live Spanish guitar music, mimosas and a specialty menu from Malaguena’s Latin Tapas food truck, you’ll find yourself overwhelmed by choice. With amazing options like Spanish French Toast with a Cava Crema, Shrimp and Hamachi Ceviche and their insanely perfect Papas Bravas (trust us, you want to try these), you’ll have trouble not stealing from your tablemates plate, especially once you throw back a few mimosas.
