Sr. Web Designer Develops the overall design structure of the NMPBS web site, maintains, and updates web pages with current content. Participates in developing a strategic plan for the NMPBS web site to include goals, internal policies, standards, and procedures. There is currently over 150 web pages included in the website. Assess new standards, technologies, and trend, ensures website is accessible from a variety of different platforms. Troubleshoot or repair website in the event of failure, design layouts for updated content, and ensures the site maintains a high level of functionality and usability. Coordinates and understands a comprehensive range of web programming software and authoring languages, ensure content is delivered at a sufficiently high level of speed and quality. Liaise with PBS Interactive for content. Represent station at national level PBS meetings, conduct conference presentations. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Familiarity with PBS-specific authoring languages such as MERLIN, BENTO and COVE. 2. Experience testing website functionality across multiple platforms (PC, Mac, mobile, tablet). 3. Experience developing standard operating procedures for website maintenance and content change management. 4. Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with colleagues at a national level in order to share best practices and remain current with PBS content and strategies. 5. Client-centered approach to website development which can include providing and receiving constructive feedback. 6. Ability to successfully manage several projects with varying degrees of priority simultaneously. 7. Familiarity or willingness to obtain familiarity with commonly accepted standards in the journalism and broadcast industry. $17.23-$25.00/hr DOE Please attach resume and cover letter.
