UNM’s Planning, Design & Construction (PDC) provides seamless delivery of professional support services to internal clients using best practices in capital project planning, development, and construction. We provide comprehensive, strategic guidance on the institution’s built environment, including campus master planning, programming, architectural development, building efforts and best design practices. The Supervisor, Construction reports to a PDC Sr. Project/Construction Manager. PDC seeks a results-oriented professional to supervise technical personnel up to a master level technician within the department. This position manages small remodel projects as well as multi-craft technical workforce and the resources that support them. This includes logistical support for facility repair projects. This individual will lead the execution of multiple small projects in a variety of locations at the Main UNM Campus, ensuring goals are met on time and within budget. This position is responsible for staff performance, assisting in the development of systems, procedures, and policies that support optimum staff performance within this group. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence in project and personnel management. Candidate will bring excellent communication skills, ability to independently estimate small multi-trade projects, and leadership ability. Position is full-time. See the Position Description for additional information. • Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job. • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check. • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check. High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Certification/Licensure Current NM licensure in one or more construction trades disciplines Associate's degree in a field directly related to construction/facility maintenance management. Current NM licensure in one or more construction trades disciplines OR Related military/industrial/commercial experience where in-service development programs are equivalent in content and rigor to State of New Mexico technical trades licensing protocols. • Demonstrated excellent customer service and communication skills operating at a high level of integrity. • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Software. • Familiarity with New Mexico Procurement Code. Main - Albuquerque, NM Capital Projects Office (250A) Staff Regular - Full-Time Non-Exempt $17.23 to $25.84 (hourly) This is a benefits eligible position.
