Do you have an artistic bent? Find out in a fun, creative and casual event at the Anderson-Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum on Sunday, October 2 from 4:30 - 9:30 p.m.
The PAINT NIGHT and BALLOON GLOW event may help you find your inner Picasso or Rembrandt. And if your masterpiece does not quite match theirs, you are guaranteed to have a lot of fun.
The evening begins with an expert instructor to oversee the evening's artistic endeavors, all supplies needed to create your unique painting, lots of other budding artists with whom you will share the fun, and a cash bar available for those over 21 who have a valid ID. A sample painting will be on display, and you will use that painting as the basis for your own interpretation on canvas.
While you stroke and sip, and munch of the free popcorn provided, you can share creative ideas with your neighboring artists, and later enjoy and indoor/outdoor exclusive view of the Balloon Glow at Balloon Fiesta Park, far away from the crowds. If you haven't yet seen a Balloon Glow, it will be a rare treat.
The class is open to anyone age 16 and over. Dress is casual (aprons provided to protect your clothing) and the atmosphere is, too. Free parking in the Balloon Museum's expansive lot is included, but you MUST have a parking pass, one issued per registration. Additional passes are $10 and are limited to one for every four guests. Those who register before September 24 will receive their parking passes mailed to the address given upon registration. Those registering after that date must pick up their parking passes at the Museum Shoppe at the Balloon Museum prior to the event.
The $35 registration fee includes full access to the Balloon Museum's extensive collection of lighter-than-air flight artifacts from throughout the world. Including a number of items from world record-breaking flights.
