A homemade bomb exploded in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan on Saturday night, injuring 29 people. The prime suspect of that bombing and an earlier one in New Jersey, Ahmed Khan Rahami, was arrested after a shootout with police this morning in New Jersey.

13-year-old Tyre King was fatally shot by police in Columbus, Ohio last week. An independent medical examiner has stated that King was "more likely than not" running from police when he was killed, based on the location and direction of the bullet wounds.

There's been a years-long drought in the Breadbasket of America, and the Ogalalla Aquifer -- the underground water reservoir that serves the farms of the Great Plains -- is drying up. It's time for us to revisit our destructive methods of farming and irrigating.
