Fetish Formal: Cabaret Cast

Arthaus Burlesque, Arcane and Kate SC

Throughout your evening at the Fetish Formal, you will have a variety of amusements offered to you: in the Dungeon of Visual Delights, demonstrations of some delicious play; in the air, dancers on trapeze, silk and lyra; from the stage, singers and burlesque dancers; working their way through the crowd with treats from our caterer, our cast of brilliant beauties. The people we've affectionately dubbed the "Cabaret Cast" are our multitalented performers who are singing, dancing and exercising their exhibitionism for your pleasure.

River Delacour has been heating up stages in Albuquerque and beyond and is one of the founding members of Arthaus Burlesque. This vixen brings not only beauty and brains, but also some of the most fabulous fetishistic skills—it is our pleasure to bring this talent to our stage and the Dungeon of Visual Delights. If you enjoy heels, you'll not want to miss what River does to our MC, or what a pair of scissors and the best of intentions will do to Rozalyn Black's formalwear.

Rozalyn Black will be gracing us on the main stage with an offering of burlesque. Rozie was a fan favorite at Alibi on Tap, and we're delighted to have her join us for the Formal. Ms. Black is a succubus who feeds off her audience, and we tempted her to the Formal by bragging about how fantastic you'll all look. Find her on stage, in the Dungeon of Visual Delights and turning heads as she moves through the crowd.

Eddi Fication just made his premier debut at Arthaus Burlesque Presents: Virgins & Veterans at the Keshet Dance Company stage. Eddi is a high-flying boylesque bombshell, and we'll be taking to the dance floor as he sings for us at the Formal. He'll also be serving as our lead waitstaff, as he has a certain way of being exactly where he's needed at just the right time.

Dancer, martial artist and nationally known burlesque performer Kit Kombat will be on hand to wow and serve the guests of the formal. This founding member of Arthaus Burlesque will be leading the way on the dance floor and offering themself as tribute to our own Curio Lecter, Bloody Maven of Burlesque and one of our hosts for the evening.

These four, plus Curio and Julian (Addams-Wolf) makeup the members of Arthaus Burlesque, and the troupe that plays together, stays together. Arthaus believes in art for art's sake, and we love the art of stripping and turning our fetishistic delights into exhibitionist expressions for your satisfaction.

And that's not all. One of the veterans from Virgins & Veterans and core members of Cabaret Audacity is going to be performing on piano, in the Dungeon of Visual Delights, and is our featured boylesque performer. Known as the Arcane Master to many, and Satyricon to fans of burlesque, this "professional hot mess" is bringing his best—and that means music, toybag and talented hands—to our party.

DJ, musician and artist Kate SC will be spinning originals, handling the music for our featured performers and giving you a reason to ask that person who caught your eye to dance. A favorite at Alchemy, and able to adapt to our unique surroundings, we can't wait to see what the brain behind Crystal Stasis is going to bring us.

We also have friends and playmates from around the kink community coming to play with us in the Dungeon of Visual Delights. You'll know them along with our staff above by their custom January Shop necklaces with "a" charms and their white fishnets.

Fetish Formal Highlight: Curio Lecter

The Bloody Maven of Burlesque

Meet the Bloody Maven of Burlesque and one of your hosts for the Fetish Formal, Curio Lecter.
Curio is a Primal Alpha identified kinkster, burlesque performer, producer, founding member and Mama Monster of Arthaus Burlesque and will be singing, dancing and facilitating quite the experience for the denizens of the Fetish Formal.

Curio, who has lit up the stage in the Duke City and in Las Vegas, Nevada doesn't just work in the limelight. She has served on the board of NM:TNG (a group for 18-35 year olds who are interested in, curious about or already involved in kink/fetish and/or Leather relationships) and currently works on the production of talent showcases and Leather pageants for the New Mexico Leather League. Additionally, volunteered locally with the now-retired Burlesque Noir and for the Rebelle Alliance. When I asked about her volunteer experience shes said "Probably the most meaningful volunteer experience I have has was at the Burlesque Hall of Fame weekender where I was able to serve as a rehearsal assistant, meeting and assisting the amazing performers and production crew of what is essentially the burlesque Olympics."

When we sat down to talk, I asked her to tell us more about what she's bringing to the Formal. "They don't call me the Bloody Maven of Burlesque for nothing! I am deeply attracted to the power and sensuality of two things: metal and blood. I have always greatly enjoyed play that involved cold sensations, which is what originally drew me to metal. The more I engaged in play using metal objects, the more metal itself became the object of my fetishization: the weight, the smell, the gleam, the color. My most prized toys are metal and even thinking about them in the right context brings me a rush. My love of blood goes back far into my earliest memories, even into past lives. The smell and sight and taste of blood is a high for me.The marriage of these two is how I came to my play with sharps, which I will be demonstrating at the Formal. I am most comfortable with hypodermic needles which I use in both piercing and/or or blood letting. A needle is an instrument that is very precise, with minimal wounding that allows for quick healing, which is why I like to incorporate them into my burlesque. Knives or other blades are better for blood letting and sensations, but scar longer. Fortunately for the curious, I will be bringing some blades along as well. As for my other kinks, I am inexorably attracted to primal violence: hunting, biting, clawing, fighting, and other animalistic behaviors. The baser the better, with consent of course." And don't worry, denizens of the Formal, all play will be limited to the Dungeon of Visual Delights and the stage, come and delight from a voyeuristic perspective.

In addition to her organizational skills behind the scenes and her charisma on stage, Curio is also a tarot reader and is allowing you to book a session at the Fetish Formal. "My connection to my primal self is very strong and so my psychic energy takes that monstrous feeling. My readings tend to be raw and powerful (so I'm told). Readings come to me in bits, and so the process can feel wild as I try to piece words together from the sensations and energies pictured in the cards. With tarot, each card has its own message, but a spread works together to synthesize those messages into a narrative that answers a question or tells a tale...usually whether you like it or not. It is my responsibility I feel, to deliver that message as clearly as possible. And that's what I feel can be expected: a clear message from somewhere or someone that you need to hear." Curio will be available for readings starting when the doors open, and we encourage you to sign up in advance. There will be only one ten card reading available, only two five card readings, and there will be some three card readings available. Curio will be reading from the Tarot Sexualis- the deck created by our featured artist Darla Hallmark.

Curio's next performance will be "something totally different from my exhibitions at the Formal. November 19 at Sidewinders Bar with the SWAG Cabaret's "Americana" show and a little tribute to the devil in the South. Speaking of Sidewinders, my troupe Arthaus Burlesque will debut as the resident Burlesque troupe there in a self-titled tribute to all things weird, dark, and queer. December 3rd is the date for that production."
