Saying that Alibi columnist Derek Caterwaul sees a lot of live music would be a major understatement. If he isn’t DJing on KUNM or sorting through his massive archive of obscure A/V and ephemera, it’s a pretty safe bet he’s at a show. In this month’s installment of MAXIMUMCATERWAUL, he shares a quick and dirty overview of 10 shows he caught in March. ... right here in our quirky, beloved burg. Peep related A/V below.

Yeehaw-goth meets full Rooster, control issues and battling the city
Morrissey's doctor has ordered him to rest a spell during treatment for a bleeding ulcer and Barrett’s esophagus. So, the Pope of Mope's Tricky Falls gig is once again being rescheduled. Heaven knows super-fans are miserable now, so send some not happy/not sad recuperative vibes to Moz. I am reassured, 'cause weird old Wilde is on his side.
On the bright side, that frees up our collective schedule to catch Queens, New York duo Blues Control on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Small Engine Gallery (1413 Fourth Street SW), along with Fando and Fort Hobo. On Sunday, Feb. 10, get your alt.

Chance and community coalesce at band lotto fest
Musicians Andy Lyman and Emma Crane stopped by the Alibi office to hip us to their band lottery and the resulting showcase. Twenty-seven musicians were fatefully appointed to seven bands: Broom, Butterfly Eggs, More-Door, Neandertallica, Night Snake, Super Republican Nude Beach and A Very Emma Crane Christmas Party. Learn more in Bands by Lottery. After the jump, scope out Fort Hobo drummer and Night Snake member Adrian Toto’s contribution to a trumped-up fest flyer war.
