Spotlight

Wham, Glam, Thank You Ma’am

With a name like Glitter Dick, a band isn’t likely to get much commercial airplay. However, as Albuquerque’s newest glam-trash group, Glitter Dick is on everyone’s lips. Figuratively speaking, of course.

Show Up!

Hollywood Vampires

An interview with L.A. Guns’ Tracii Guns

A raunchy creation propagated from the Sunset Strip’s infamous ’80s metal scene, L.A. Guns is an old-salt act with nearly 30 years of rock action under its studded belt. Aesthetically, the group is part glam and part punk—black hair, aviators, tattoos and motorcycle jackets laden with skull and pistol imagery have long lent an air of playful toughness. Aurally, the group is quintessential hair metal—rock and roll songs that deal with girls and hell-raising punctuated by killer shredding.

Party Shots: La Jaula!

Here's what you missed if you missed it

The Alibi's Group Hug Glam Pride Party was a smashing success and dazzlingly fun. Casa Esencia started off really swank and we filled it with beautiful people.
Kicking-off the night was La Jaula, and not only are they terrific musicians, they're also all really good looking.

Hanoi Rocks Tuesday

I always wrote off Hanoi Rocks as another lame, fake-o-tron ‘80s hair band ... until last night, when I was convinced otherwise. Much of the Finnish four piece’s early music, especially the song posted here, sounds like ‘70s power pop and glampunk. Sadly, at some point the dudes did fall victim to the generic ‘80s glam metal formula, but prior to that it’s pretty bitchin.’
