Homeward Bound

The holidays should be a time for renewed perspective and taking a moment to focus on not what you're missing, but what you already have. A roof over your head is a good place for most of us to start. Thousands of people die each year while homeless, a number that goes largely unnoticed. Join the New Mexico Coalition to End Homelessness for a Homeless Persons' Memorial Vigil on today. Beginning at 12:45 p.m., gather at Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless (corner of Mountain and First Street) and proceed to First United Methodist Church (314 Lead SW) for a memorial service remembering those less fortunate who passed during the calendar year. For more, visit nmceh.org or call the coalition at 217-9570.

Homeless Persons’ Memorial Vigil

As the vast majority of us pencil in family get-togethers for the holiday season, it's easy to take even those drama-filled spectacles and gifts for granted. For those living on the streets who have passed away during the last year, the New Mexico Coalition to End Homelessness holds its annual Homeless Persons' Memorial Vigil on today. Beginning at 12:45 p.m., gather at the Memorial Wall at Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless (northwest corner of Mountain and First Street). A march proceeds through Downtown, ending with a candlelight vigil from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church (314 Lead SW). For more, e-mail Lisa of the NMCEH at Lisa-H@nmceh.org.
