Kinky Curiosities Party Monday!

DJ, Royalty & the NCSF

We're just days away from the Alibi Fetish Events takeover of Sister to bring you the results of the Alibi's Sex Survey and give you a taste of our Kinky Curiosities. Read on to discover our DJ, favorite drag queen and all about the charity we'll be supporting by partying on Valentine's Eve.

Spinning classics, originals and an eclectic soundtrack to keep us moving all while taking care of our performers, is our very own Kate SC on the decks for Kinky Curiosities! This dynamic DJ is an artist, performer and musician in her own right. She's a favorite collaborator of Cabaret Audacity, a staple of the local goth/industrial/ebm scene and kept us dancing at the Fetish Formal. Check out her Soundcloud and look forward to her aural love to surround you on Monday night.

We're also delighted to welcome back the first lady of Sidewinders, Renée Toya-Bouvier. This powerhouse of beauty and talent continues to wow us with her presence, and we're delighted to give her a platform to give us a glimpse of her wild side. She is also known as Renato N. Estacio, Artistic Director for the Southwest Arts Group and the Cabaret Theater at Sidewinders. She was nominated for the Outstanding Awards in several categories, and no one was surprised when Sidewinders took home the title.

We're also raising money for the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom. The NCSF fights for sexual freedom and privacy rights for all adults who engage in safe, sane and consensual behavior from pantsless roughhousing to high-fiving your spouse's lover. They're the only national advocacy organization whose exclusive goal it is to keep laws out of your bedroom, and the Alibi has been helping the local community raise money for longer than your MC has been a board member. We're happy to step up and make the NCSF part of Alibi Fetish Events; we all think it's pretty cool that they're fighting to make sure we can keep flying our freak flags. We'll have wares from our incredible vendors to raffle off , and will be accepting donations, all of which go right to the NCSF. (Check out their website, the Alibi's Fetish Formal got a feature in the last newsletter!)

Get your tickets now, RSVP on Facebook and Fetlife (and invite your friends), and don't forget that you can bring your cameras to this one. The #alibifetishevents hashtag will be flying about the social media airspace.

Kinky Curiosities Party February 13th!

Crew, Live Music and Visuals for Days

At Alibi Fetish Events, even our crew is as beautiful and intriguing as our performers. Joining us to lend their strength to the stage, we're welcoming two beauties from the Duke City's boylesque scene, Eddi Fication and Rick O'Shea!

Eddi Fication is a member of Cabaret Audacity and will be performing at WILD this Saturday at Launchpad. He is the quadruple threat you didn't know you needed in your life and will be joining the Cabaret Band to flex more than just his muscles.

Rick O'Shea is part of the Sons of Perdition and is an accomplished power lifter and dancer. His experience on stage includes credits such as being part of the shadowcast of the Rocky Horror Picture Show and in the ballet Dracula. Frequently seen on dance floors across our city, we're delighted to have him join us for Kinky Curiosities.

The Cabaret Audacity Band is lead by Arcane —an accomplished boylesque dancer as Satyricon, musician, professional kinkster and model. His prowess on the keyboards is infamous and his skills with a flogger are somewhat legendary. Arcane has been working, traveling and creating music with me for longer than we care to count, and he'll be accompanying one of our performers for a burlesque number, playing original music and passionate covers during some demos, and helping set the mood for the night throughout our party. He is as talented as he's pretty to look at, and we're going to make sure you get a good look. Care to hear more from Arcane and the Cabaret Audacity Band? Join us for the Vaudeville Open Mic every third Wednesday at the Sidewinders Cabaret Theater.

The results from our too-hot-for-print Sex Survey will be revealed from the stage through the art of of our incredible VJ Lithochasm. You've likely seen his dynamic work at Alchemy on Thursdays at Effex and at Oscillation Electronic Music Festival. He'll be projecting scintillating visuals throughout our party, and we can't wait to see what he's cooked up for us.

Kinky Curiosities Party February 13th!

Leather and Lace

Kinky Curiosities is more than just a reveal and a show, we're also hosting community tables and we have a contingent from the Leather community!

New Mexico has a long history of titleholders to represent the Leather community, and one of our current titles is Corazon Leather, which happens annually at the Leather Fiesta conference. This year, Catherine and Jinx the Lynx are serving as Ms Corazon Leather 2016! Be sure to stop by and say hello. They'll be hosting a table where they can answer questions, and they'll have tickets to upcoming events and wares to delight you. They're also sharing space with Bootblack Dani, who will be available to shine your shoes, boots, leather corsets and more —bring money to tip the performers and your bootblack!

Catherine has been an enthusiastic member of the New Mexico community volunteering at various events and using her skills as a pole dancer to raise money for various causes for several years. Early in 2016 she started Twizted Wax Works and began producing wax play candles in a variety of intensities, she applies her familiarity with wax play to teach popular hands-on as well as purely informational classes. In the coming year, Catherine is looking forward to growing her business and expanding on her knowledge of all things kinky as she travels the country while serving as Ms. Corazon Leather 2016.

Jinx the Lynx has been playing, working and volunteering in the New Mexico community for years. She gives most of her time to a local non-profit Bully-type dog breed advocacy group that raises money for rescues and shelters in need across the state. She has used her silver tongue to talk money out of people's wallets and purses for various fundraisers in the kinky and vanilla community over the years. When not volunteering, she can be found reading and rescuing animals. Jinx teaches various classes and lectures on topics both kinky and vanilla. She is the current stand-in facilitator of education at the Wet Munch and a First Aid/CPR/AED instructor. Her favorite thing is bloodsport, but don't worry, she's not hunting Monday. In the coming year, Jinx wishes to raise money to better her local community by providing funds for non-profit groups and she plans to continue to serve as Ms. Corazon Leather 2016 for the rest of her life.

New Mexico is also home to the Albuquerque Leather Daddys, a local group of Leather enthusiasts who host a monthly Gear Night the first Saturday of every month at Sidewinders Bar. What's Gear Night? It's a theme night for you to wear your favorite fetish-wear, have a few drinks amid other hot folks, maybe watch some demos (I tied some decorative bondage on a very handsome muscle bear after the Jock Strap Contest which was, in fact, a bunch of hot people on stage stripping down to their jocks while the crowd went crazy), get your boots shined and dance to an eclectic mix from the resident (award winning) DJ. Every year they do fundraisers for folks like Casa Q (a great local charity) and usually enjoy a ruckus entry in the Albuquerque Pride Parade. One of the founders of the Albuquerque Leather Daddys was the first Rio Grande Leather Titleholder with yours truly back in 2004, and we still enjoy working together. The Daddys will be hosting a table and offering us two live kink demos at Kinky Curiosities.

Oh what wonders await you next Monday! Buy your tickets now, invite your friends, get yourself a date or three. We'll be announcing drink specials and the rest of our cast and crew of curiosities this week, so stay tuned. RSVP on Facebook, on Fetlife (for those already in the know.) Cameras and phones are allowed at the event so feel free to Tweet and post to Instagram with the hashtag #AlibiFetishEvents.

Kinky Curiosities Party February 13th!

Sister, Femme Fatale Burlesque Cabaret & Joy Coy

At Kinky Curiosities at Sister Bar, not only will we be unveiling the results of the too-hot-for-print sex survey, but we'll also be tantalizing you with fetishistic performances throughout the evening. Burlesque, music and demos will delight you from the main stage as you meander through vendors, tables and the incredibly well-equipped bar. Since this party is at Sister, you can order yourself some tacos as you enjoy the show, but that's true every night. Let me tell you a bit more of what Kinky Curiosities has in store for you.

A trio of dancers will be bringing you all the sugary treats you can handle in the hours before Valentine's Day. We're delighted to welcome the gorgeous women of the Femme Fatale Burlesque Cabaret! The Femme Fatales formed in May of 2016 and set the stage on fire this last June at Pridezilla in their first public appearance. Hailing from across the country, these dynamic women came together with a mutual love of burlesque.

Femme Fatale is influenced by theater, Broadway and classic artists such as Gypsy Rose Lee and Tempest Storm. Morgan Mayhem, Rosie Golden and Madame Delirium will be a force to be reckoned with on the 13th!

How could we celebrate kink and fetish without welcoming strong, powerful queens? We are thrilled to announce a performer whose poise and beauty captivates audiences at every act she does. She is a classically trained dancer with a flair for theatricality, balancing grace and agility in her enchanting performances that meld vivid movement and sensual striptease. In 2011 she began performing burlesque with Albuquerque’s award-winning troupe Burlesque Noir. She quickly became a local favorite in New Mexico and is an up-and-coming performer in the national community, having performed on stages from coast to coast.

Yes, that's right, Joy Coy will be performing! Instructor, producer with Unicorn Productions and someone you asked us to have back after the Inaugural Alibi On Tap, we can't wait to bow down to her glory. With Unicorn Productions, she's producing and performing in WILD on Feb. 11 at the Launchpad. Make sure to keep up with Joy's amazing adventures on Facebook.

Want to learn how to bump and grind with one of the best? Joy Coy's next round of burlesque classes at Tammy's Edge begin Thursday, March 23, so email joycoyabq@gmail.com to sign up.

We still have more to announce —and we're giving you more than your money's worth as always. Go buy your tickets now via Alibi Bucks for only $7. If we don't sell out, they'll be $10 at the door.

Burlesque: Perla and Annie

Anticipation is one heck of an aphrodisiac. Here's another taste of what's to come! Our too-hot-for-print 2017 Sex Survey results are in, and all will be revealed at the Alibi Fetish Events: Kinky Curiosities party at Sister on Feb. 13.

We love burlesque, and we know you do too. For Kinky Curiosities, we're featuring some delightfully fetishistic acts from some of our favorite performers. You told us what you love, and we're putting it on stage.

You've seen her with Dirty Deeds and across many stages. Some of you fell for her at the inaugural Alibi On Tap, and we're delighted to have her grace our stage again. The one and only Perla Foxxx is five feet of fiery personality with a filthy mouth and the skills of a dancer who's been performing and producing since 2013.

She's fierce yet cuddly, and is everyone's favorite cochina. See her again Feb. 25 at Low Spirits with the Gilded Cage, March 3 for the Portland De Colores All Latin Review and March 18 at the Launchpad for the Circus of Sin.

Also joining us at Kinky Curiosities is the one and only Annie O'Roar! This founding member of Unicorn Productions has been twirling her ta-ta's in the Duke City since 2011. Her acts range from classic to neo-burlesque, and she's got something especially naughty for us at Kinky Curiosities. She has a fondness for snakes, fringe and fire.

The author of Yoga, Sex and Love: A Memoir of Life Under the Albuquerque Sun, we are just tickled pink to have Annie on our stage. Check her out at WILD just a few days before our show at the Launchpad, with Low Spirits with the Gilded Cage February 25th, at A Night of Classic Burlesque on March 10 and with Ms Foxxx (and Julian!) at Circus of Sin on March 18.

These are just two of the incredible performers who will be gracing us with their presence and showing us what they've got at Kinky Curiosities. We can't wait to see you there. Buy your tickets now via Alibi Bucks and get ready for the best Monday you've had all year.

Rip Williams & Shawna Cory, Mistress Lexianna

Our too-hot-for-print 2017 Sex Survey results are in, and all will be revealed at Alibi Fetish Events: Kinky Curiosities party at Sister on February 13. Here's the first tease of what's to come!

It is our pleasure to welcome back the dynamic duo, Rip Williams and Shawna Cory! They brought a compelling energy that spellbound the denizens of the Fetish Formal, and we're delighted to have them back to perform a suspension performance at Kinky Curiosities.
Rip Williams is the long-time host of Guerrilla Photo Group (GPG), a frequent winner of the Best of Burque Best Arts Event and a group designed to hone the skills of photographers, models, art directors and more in a collaborative, nurturing environment. Recently, GPG partnered with Cabaret Audacity to help train photographers to shoot performances at the Vaudeville Open Mic every third Wednesday at Sidewinders Cabaret Theater.
A photographer in his own right, Williams has won Best of Burque's Best Photographer category more times than this writer wanted to go back and research. In addition to his work developing the visual chroniclers of the next generation, he also hosts two get-togethers per month at his Downtown studio for people who are interested in the art of rope bondage.
Shawna serves as the art director for GPG, curating (along with her team) their quarterly art shows. Shawna is also an accomplished photographer, and I had the pleasure of meeting her when we were both working with the Bella Donna Burlesque Review.
Rip, Shawna and their team will be weaving their magic on the main stage at Kinky Curiosities, headlining the demo portion of our evening.

Mistress Lexianna brought style, class and delicious sadism to the Dungeon of Visual Delights at the Fetish Formal, and we are delighted to bring her and her cadre of favored playmates to our team at Kinky Curiosities. Do you need further introduction? Let us encourage you to ask very politely.

There's more: Advance tickets are available at the Alibi Bucks site, and if we sell out they won't be available at the door. We're going to give you the best Monday night of your year. Don't miss out.

Fetish Formal: Featured Entertainers

Rip Williams & Shawna Cory + Alyxzandrea Asher

Need yet another reason to get excited about Weekly Alibi's inaugural Fetish Formal? Joining us in both the Dungeon of Visual Delights and on the main stage are award-winning artists Rip Williams and Shawna Cory. If you haven't done so, secure your spot in our voyeuristic hedonist's heaven now at bit.ly/fetishformal.

Rip Williams is the longtime host of Guerrilla Photo Group (GPG), a frequent winner of the Best of Burque Best Arts Event and a group designed to hone the skills of photographers, models, art directors and more in a collaborative, nurturing environment.

Rip, Shawna and their team will offer Fetish Formal guests several thrills. They'll be utilizing their rope skills twice—yes, you'll see Shawna fly—and featuring some other favorite types of intense play in the Dungeon of Visual Delights. It is a rare treat to catch a glimpse of these two weaving their magic, and we are delighted to give them space to do so.

Looking forward to dinner before the big event? Duel Brewery taproom (located in downtown Albuquerque) is offering anyone with an invitation a lovely place to have dinner while dressed to the nines, and a discount on your meal. Duel has fantastic fare to share and prep your palate for the hedonistic delights to come.

Don't want to wait until November to give the Taproom a try? This Saturday, Oct. 29, Enchanted PopUp Presents: Strangers with Candy. Your MC and several cast members will be out in force to entertain and answer questions about the Fetish Formal. (The Taproom hosts a variety of events, ranging from open mics to yoga classes, check out their Facebook page for a complete list.)

Don't forget, Free Radicals would be thrilled to help you find the perfect thing to wear, and they're offering a discount too: 13 percent off your purchase with proof of your invitation. Don't worry if you don't have your invitation on hand yet; the email receipt works just as well.

Are you or one of your dates coming in from out of town, or are you just looking to make your night of decadence last until dawn? We have also partnered with Hotel Andaluz, which is offering discount codes with your invitation. In addition to its beauty and historical significance, Hotel Andaluz is the only full-service boutique hotel Downtown, and their staff would love to see you before and after the Fetish Formal.

We cannot overstate how pleased we are to have fetish sensation Alyxzandrea Asher with us. Ms. Asher will be performing one of her delightfully fetishistic burlesque performances on our main stage, and she is looking forward to enjoying the evening's sights and sounds. She'll have some photo prints available for purchase and will sign them for you then and there; that's a rare treat, even for locals.

Asher has been performing for appreciative crowds for 12 years, and she has also been featured in numerous fetish calendars and magazines. A fetishist and exhibitionist herself, she was at the top of our list to headline the Inaugural Fetish Formal. Luckily for all of us, Asher will be there in fine form.

Fetish Formal Highlight: Curio Lecter

The Bloody Maven of Burlesque

Meet the Bloody Maven of Burlesque and one of your hosts for the Fetish Formal, Curio Lecter.
Curio is a Primal Alpha identified kinkster, burlesque performer, producer, founding member and Mama Monster of Arthaus Burlesque and will be singing, dancing and facilitating quite the experience for the denizens of the Fetish Formal.

Curio, who has lit up the stage in the Duke City and in Las Vegas, Nevada doesn't just work in the limelight. She has served on the board of NM:TNG (a group for 18-35 year olds who are interested in, curious about or already involved in kink/fetish and/or Leather relationships) and currently works on the production of talent showcases and Leather pageants for the New Mexico Leather League. Additionally, volunteered locally with the now-retired Burlesque Noir and for the Rebelle Alliance. When I asked about her volunteer experience shes said "Probably the most meaningful volunteer experience I have has was at the Burlesque Hall of Fame weekender where I was able to serve as a rehearsal assistant, meeting and assisting the amazing performers and production crew of what is essentially the burlesque Olympics."

When we sat down to talk, I asked her to tell us more about what she's bringing to the Formal. "They don't call me the Bloody Maven of Burlesque for nothing! I am deeply attracted to the power and sensuality of two things: metal and blood. I have always greatly enjoyed play that involved cold sensations, which is what originally drew me to metal. The more I engaged in play using metal objects, the more metal itself became the object of my fetishization: the weight, the smell, the gleam, the color. My most prized toys are metal and even thinking about them in the right context brings me a rush. My love of blood goes back far into my earliest memories, even into past lives. The smell and sight and taste of blood is a high for me.The marriage of these two is how I came to my play with sharps, which I will be demonstrating at the Formal. I am most comfortable with hypodermic needles which I use in both piercing and/or or blood letting. A needle is an instrument that is very precise, with minimal wounding that allows for quick healing, which is why I like to incorporate them into my burlesque. Knives or other blades are better for blood letting and sensations, but scar longer. Fortunately for the curious, I will be bringing some blades along as well. As for my other kinks, I am inexorably attracted to primal violence: hunting, biting, clawing, fighting, and other animalistic behaviors. The baser the better, with consent of course." And don't worry, denizens of the Formal, all play will be limited to the Dungeon of Visual Delights and the stage, come and delight from a voyeuristic perspective.

In addition to her organizational skills behind the scenes and her charisma on stage, Curio is also a tarot reader and is allowing you to book a session at the Fetish Formal. "My connection to my primal self is very strong and so my psychic energy takes that monstrous feeling. My readings tend to be raw and powerful (so I'm told). Readings come to me in bits, and so the process can feel wild as I try to piece words together from the sensations and energies pictured in the cards. With tarot, each card has its own message, but a spread works together to synthesize those messages into a narrative that answers a question or tells a tale...usually whether you like it or not. It is my responsibility I feel, to deliver that message as clearly as possible. And that's what I feel can be expected: a clear message from somewhere or someone that you need to hear." Curio will be available for readings starting when the doors open, and we encourage you to sign up in advance. There will be only one ten card reading available, only two five card readings, and there will be some three card readings available. Curio will be reading from the Tarot Sexualis- the deck created by our featured artist Darla Hallmark.

Follow the antics of the Bloody Maven of Burlesque online, and join the audience at upcoming shows!
Curio Lecter on Facebook
Curio's Instagram
Curio's Fetlife Profile
Curio's next performance will be "something totally different from my exhibitions at the Formal. November 19 at Sidewinders Bar with the SWAG Cabaret's "Americana" show and a little tribute to the devil in the South. Speaking of Sidewinders, my troupe Arthaus Burlesque will debut as the resident Burlesque troupe there in a self-titled tribute to all things weird, dark, and queer. December 3rd is the date for that production."

Fetish Formal: Shop Highlight

The January Shop

At the Weekly Alibi's Inaugural Fetish Formal, not only will you be able to enjoy the sights we've created to incite and delight you while you meander through the fabulous crowd, but we will also have some featured vendors for you to find something special to take home.

The January Shop was opened in 2013 to fill two gaps in the BDSM toy market: vegan toys, and toys that are affordable and well made. The founders are openly poly, pagan, kinky and leather: Robert Jones and Orli January, together with Orli's husband, head the January House Leather Family. The January Shop also employs other members of the kink community, and, unlike some of the very plentiful overseas companies that make BDSM toys, are committed to paying their employees a reasonable wage. That's right—you can bring social conscientiousness to your playroom at no extra charge!

When you walk up to the January Shop's table at the Formal, the first thing to catch your eye will probably be the brightly colored paracord floggers. There's a flogger to create any sensation, from thuddy to stingy, heavy to light. Orli's favorite part of vending at events is helping people find exactly the right sensation for them. Your Passport includes the opportunity to utilize Orli's expertise!

The January Shop also sells hand-dyed and -conditioned bondage rope in cotton, jute and coconut, cut to your specific needs. (We've invited Orli and Robert to demonstrate proper use in our Dungeon of Visual Delights!) In addition to rope, they'll have wearable works such as custom collars, leashes, body harnesses and jewelry. Your Alibi and Cabaret staff will be donning some of their custom jewelry during the Formal. (Look for the scarlet letter "a"s if you need one of us.)

The January Shop retails online and at local events, and wholesales both in the US and internationally. They also take appointments for Albuquerque locals to shop in person!
