Daniel Brigman is the curator of DIY venue Moldspores, founder of micro-label Featherspines and an experimental musician. He performs solo as Father of the Flood and plays bass in Contortionist. Hear his noise live on Friday evening. Since Brigman doesn’t own an MP3 player, he devised an innovative method of divining his random tracks. Read all about it in this week’s Song Roulette.
Watch Father of the Flood’s “Disclosure / Salt Verse” video below.
As Tiny Victim, Justin Mitschelen employs a keyboard, effects rack, oscillator, drum machine and three reverb tanks. Mitschelen hesitates to categorize his output. “It really spans a lot of styles,” he says.
Sult (Norwegian electro acoustic improv), Brachiator (experimental sounds by New Mexico’s Mark Weaver, Ben Wright and Christian Pincock), Alchemical Burn vs. AGL (drone competition) and DJ Caterwaul (vinyl records) constitute a far-out show at Moldspores (923 11th Street NW) on Sunday, March 4, at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 and all ages are welcome.
