Soundtracking a route of wolves

As I decided what podcast to share with y’all today, I’m surrounded by glorious canines. Not wolves, mind you. But one of the coolest things about working at the Alibi is the dog-friendly office. That’s how I ended up selecting my Walking the Wolf mix for today’s blog. It’s an exciting story, I know. But I promise the podcast itself is far more thrilling than my description of the selection process. Stream the mix—featuring tracks by The Kill Spectors, Tenderizor, Venus Bogardus, The Grave of Nobody’s Darling, Great White Buffalo, Sabertooth Cavity, Bigawatt and The Kleptones—below or visit the original blog post for the full track list.

Destroyed Tones

Tenderizor—purveyor of epic heavy metal and subsequent rainbows in the dark—is something of an Albuquerque supergroup. Its five members include Steve Hammond (Leeches of Lore), Raven Chacon (Death Convention Singers, Black Guys, KILT), brothers Mike and Pat Day (Fando, Old Man) and Kris Kerby (Sabertooth Cavity). This week, Tenderizor releases its first record, Touch The Sword, out on Chacon’s label Sicksicksick Distro.

Shoulder Voices In Space! Release Party

Although the band's been performing since 2001, Shoulder Voices never officially released an album. This week, however, the eclectic Albuquerque group—powered by Little Bobby, The Musk and a rotating cast of characters—will unleash its first proper, non-CDR collection of recorded material. In Space! is a concept album rooted in '70s psychedelia, as well as a means of furthering the band's aggressively festive shows.
