Kinky Curiosities Party February 13th!

Crew, Live Music and Visuals for Days

At Alibi Fetish Events, even our crew is as beautiful and intriguing as our performers. Joining us to lend their strength to the stage, we're welcoming two beauties from the Duke City's boylesque scene, Eddi Fication and Rick O'Shea!

Eddi Fication is a member of Cabaret Audacity and will be performing at WILD this Saturday at Launchpad. He is the quadruple threat you didn't know you needed in your life and will be joining the Cabaret Band to flex more than just his muscles.

Rick O'Shea is part of the Sons of Perdition and is an accomplished power lifter and dancer. His experience on stage includes credits such as being part of the shadowcast of the Rocky Horror Picture Show and in the ballet Dracula. Frequently seen on dance floors across our city, we're delighted to have him join us for Kinky Curiosities.

The Cabaret Audacity Band is lead by Arcane —an accomplished boylesque dancer as Satyricon, musician, professional kinkster and model. His prowess on the keyboards is infamous and his skills with a flogger are somewhat legendary. Arcane has been working, traveling and creating music with me for longer than we care to count, and he'll be accompanying one of our performers for a burlesque number, playing original music and passionate covers during some demos, and helping set the mood for the night throughout our party. He is as talented as he's pretty to look at, and we're going to make sure you get a good look. Care to hear more from Arcane and the Cabaret Audacity Band? Join us for the Vaudeville Open Mic every third Wednesday at the Sidewinders Cabaret Theater.

The results from our too-hot-for-print Sex Survey will be revealed from the stage through the art of of our incredible VJ Lithochasm. You've likely seen his dynamic work at Alchemy on Thursdays at Effex and at Oscillation Electronic Music Festival. He'll be projecting scintillating visuals throughout our party, and we can't wait to see what he's cooked up for us.

Desert Sound

Friday, Sep 30: Chrome Sparks

So Chrome Sparks apparently has a few hours open in his schedule to visit ABQ—somewhere in between juggling his gajillion other projects and fulfilling his role as busiest spacey electro-pop composer on the planet. New Mexico seems like the perfect place for those wide-open, expansive tunes of his. Maybe someone can talk him into posting up in the middle of the desert next time. Sound carries further at night and can have a a really spooky resonance. Just saying. This Friday, Sept. 30, he'll be wowing the pants off of us at Sister Bar (which is indoors, unfortunately) starting at 9pm. Sister • Fri Sep 30 • 9pm • $10-$12 • 21+ • View on Alibi calendar

Votives, Adult Beverage at Sister

Album release party also features Crime Lab and crttrz

Join Albuquerque’s rock and roll community at Sister (407 Central NW) on Saturday, April 23 for the album release party for Votives, a heavy, punk-flavored, ambient-attached shoegaze project. Votives latest release, Trails / Hue begins with a low rumble that ultimately advance toward crashing waves of feedback and guitar badassery.

Joining Votives for this special celebration of all that is rocking will be an Crime Lab, crttrz and Adult Beverage, an outfit fronted by Dillon Cullinan.

Cullinan spoke briefly with the Alibi about his latest undertaking, recalling the many changes Adult Beverage went through as their psychedelic sound took shape.

“By spring 2015 the band had finally found it's ideal configuration with Higinio Martinez on guitar, Zach Leyba on drums, and occasionally Briana Lee on bass. Since 2015 we have played countless house shows and venues in New Mexico. We have played alongside Walter TV (Mac Demarco's live band), Destruction Unit, The Memories, Colleen Green, and LA Witch.

Adult Beverage is currently writing and recording for the first time collaboratively. A new 5 song EP is being recording by Will Byrne of Train Conductor.

Asked to describe their current flavor, Cullinan said, “We've been described as having elements of punk, garage rock, dream-pop, stoner metal, noise rock, and psychedelia.”

The concert, a glimpse into the instrumentally intense and luminously limitless void in these parts, begins at 8pm.
