YOLO

Dave Attell • stand-up comedy

It is rumored that Dave Attell, the greatest living comedian, only wants to do shows at casinos these days because he can smoke inside. Come see him at The Stage at Santa Ana Star Casino this Friday and Saturday, July 19 and 20 before his lungs rot out and he turns into a pile of yellow goo. The shows are 21 and up and start at 7 and 9:30pm. Doors open at 6 and 8:45pm, respectively. Tickets start at $20 and run up to $45.

Born to Sing

Boyz II Men • soul, R&B • En Vogue • pop, '90s

How's this for a summertime jam sesh guaranteed to get you moving: Boyz II Men and En Vogue are the featured performers at a totally cool concert at Sandia Casino & Resort Amphitheater. They're all getting down to the sound on Friday, July 19 at 7:30pm. If you wanna know more, check out this brief Weekly Alibi-made summary: Boyz II Men remains one of the most potently creative R&B bands of all time. If you haven't heard their tuneage then may we humbly suggest essentially groovy works like “End of the Road” as well as the sweetly soulful if somehow silly “I'll Make Love to You.” And En Vogue? Well they rep some of the finest feminist-flavored, positively uplifting R&B ever made, compradres. “Free Your Mind,” their totally danceable yet anthemic take on racism from 1992, still holds sway literally and metaphorically. And you'll dig their work with Snoop D O Double G. Tickets for this all-ages galactic gathering range in price from $45 to $65, so go ahead and take a seat.
