Slate at the Museum
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Snacks, coffee, pastries until 4 p.m. Closed Monday. (hours can change without notice)
Just inside the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History, this cozy lunch spot is an offshoot of Slate Street Café. Specialties include the museum niçoise—a stellar presentation of poached (rather than seared) tuna on a bed of field greens, green beans and sliced new potatoes—and crispy buttermilk chicken and steak frites. During the museum’s Third Thursday Nights, Slate also offers a special menu called “Small Plates Great Tastes” featuring items such as ahi mango ceviche, duck and almond empanadas, and New Orleans barbecue shrimp.
