Get out of the house, you Internet addict! Welcome Back Le Chat— One of the members of Le Chat Lunatique went on a long, out-of-country vacation. Before he left, he booked a show for the night he came back. Now that’s one way to get over jet lag. For $5, check ’em out at the Golden West Saloon (622 Central SW) tonight at 9 p.m. They’re the only band to take the stage, and they’re gonna Gypsy-swing it all night. Hip-hop for Peace— It’s what make’s America great. There’s a s$*t load of hip-hop events going down tonight at The Palace from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. There’ll be live DJs, a 2-on-2 MC battle, a beatbox battle, an open vendors market and off-the-hook entertainment. The event cost $10 and is a fundraiser for Food Not Bombs. Take Care of your Pets— The Animal Humane Association of New Mexico is hosting a low-cost microchipping and vaccination clinic on Sunday, July 16, from 1 to 4 p.m. at 615 Virginia SE. Free Shrimp!— It’s shrimp, it’s fried, it’s delicious (and free)! Captain D’s, the other fast-seafood restaurant that isn’t Long John Silver’s, is having a promotion on Monday, July 17, at locations around the nation from 6 to 9 p.m. During that time, customers can receive three jumbo batter-dipped shrimp. For free. Yum. Sol House Concert— I knew about the Bosque House Concerts, but not Sol House Concerts. Maybe I’ve been living under a rock. Katie Sawicki is playing at the Sol House on Tuesday, July 18, at 7 p.m. Should be nice and cozy.
