9 … 11. Nine eleven. 9/11. 2001. Amazing, huh? Five whole years. I sure hoped we’d be in a better situation than we are right now. Doesn’t it seem like we’ve blown a lot of golden opportunities? On the positive side, at least the islamofascists haven’t managed to set off an atomic bomb in a Western city. That’s a good thing. Still, Bush has certainly inspired a lot of angry young Muslims who wouldn’t mind taking a crack at that kind of massacre. That’s less of a good thing.

So how do you “celebrate” a day like today? There are probably better ways than watching fictional docudramas about the attack on network TV. We live in enough of a fantasyland as it is. Might be a good day to send a bouquet of black roses to the White House. That might be nice. I don’t know. Luckily, I’m too damn busy to give it much thought right now. Maybe tonight I’ll have the space and time. I’m not looking forward to it.
