I just bought a new martial arts weapon this week. That’s the highlight of my weekend—playing with my new staff. And going to see Angels in America.

Explora Adult Night— Yes, we like Explora … OK, I like Explora. It’s Adult Night again this evening … there will be live music this time. Be there.

Student Discounts are Awesome— Fan Man in Santa Fe keeps hearing complaints that there is nothing to do for the under 21 crowd. To remedy that, he is offering a 50 percent discount for students of the College of Santa Fe, the Santa Fe Community College and UNM to three all-ages concerts within the next week. Tomorrow night, Sept. 16, see Lou Reed at the Santa Fe Opera (505-986-5900). On Monday, Sept. 18, check out Marc Broussard and on Thursday, Sept 21, see The Damnwells and Army of Me, both at the Santa Fe Brewing Co.

Veterans for Peace— On Saturday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m. the Joan Duffy Chapter of Veterans for Peace in Santa Fe is presenting the new Focus Features film, The Ground Truth , at the James A. Little Theatre (1060 Cerrillos, Santa Fe). The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with Jimmy Massey, a twelve-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps who served in Iraq and is featured in the film.  Admission is free, but contribute to Veterans for Peace, won’t ya?
