One thing I won’t be doing this weekend: trying the new “lasagna pizza.” Oh-my-sweet-potato.

Everyday is Family Day —And tomorrow, Saturday Sept. 23, is a great day to spend some time with your family at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science. In conjunction with the recent opening of the Dynatheater film, Mysteries of the Nile , they are hosting a number of hands-on activities and games exploring the amazing cultural and natural diversity of the Nile River from 1 to 4 p.m.

Dr. Zoolittle —Baby animals are sooooo cute. Tomorrow at the Rio Grande Zoo, Blue Cross Blue Shield, the City of Burque and Radio Disney are hosting the third annual Dr. Zoolittle Children’s Health and Wellness Fair. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., you and your brood can learn about children’s health at various exhibit throughout the zoo. And, two children ages 12 and younger get in free with each paid adult. See the animals—be healthy.

Russell Crowe Casting Call —No, not a casting call for Russell Crowe … or even a Russell Crowe look alike. But it is a casting call for a movie staring Russell Crowe. Personally, I’m more excited about the fact the movie also stars Christian Bale. Well, you want in? There’s an open call for extras at 302 Washington SE from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24. Maybe if I go, Christian will notice what a wonderful Batgirl I’d make…

Slammin’ at the Fair —There’s a lot to do at the New Mexico State Fair. I heard the chile relleno dog is wonderful … and I swear I heard something about deep-fried coke. Hum. Make sure to check out all the local talent playing at the Ford Pavilion. On Sunday, Sept. 24, there will be a youth poetry slam-off to decide the youth state champion. Noon—it’s a rumble under the big top—be there.

Sunday School … It Ain’t Church —It’s more like a local talent grab bag. Poets, musicians, live artists, storytelling, beat boxing—it’s all these things are more. Forget the pews, head over to the Yale Art Center at 8:30 p.m. this Sunday, Sept. 24, make a mere $3 donation and aid your spiritual health.
