Midterm elections are scheduled for Tuesday of next week. Republicans are trailing badly, largely because of President Bush’s failing war in Iraq. What a lucky coincidence, then, that Saddam Hussein—everyone’s least favorite tyrant—may be condemned to hang this very Sunday, just two mere days before the election, for his numerous indisputable crimes against humanity. Geez, this couldn’t have worked out better for the Republicans if they’d planned it.
