Italy’s fashion industry and government vowed to abide by a code that requires models to provide proof that they don’t have eating disorders. Accordingly, Brazil’s been itching to do something similar. Spain banned from fashion week models with a BMI of less than 18.

Maybe that’s a good idea. Maybe it’s a case of punishing the victim. But it’s great to see a country recognizing the severity of eating disorders (all snarky headlines aside).

“There is a line between a thin girl and a sick one that is often crossed,” said Giovanna Milandri, Italy’s youth and sports minister.
