Is anyone out there nerdy enough (anyone else, I guess I should say) to get a kick out of the top words of 2006? “Love” is the most looked up, followed closely by “affect” and “effect.” (Just remember, with an “a” it’s almost always a verb unless you’re getting fancy).Nearly 200,000 people cared enough to vote on some words (if only I’d known …) . “Truthiness” won out, though “it-getter” is on there, too. And the among the most looked-up new words: “Impactful” and “metrosexual.”
