This just in from CYFD:

Albuquerque, NM – CYFD Cabinet Secretary-Designate Dorian Dodson today announced that 18-year old James Spoke, who escaped from CYFD custody on December 29, 2006, has been arrested in Albuquerque.

Albuquerque Police Department officers responding to a tip on Saturday, January 13, surrounded a home at 301 Texas SE in Albuquerque, where they found Spoke alone and took him into custody.

Spoke’s return to New Mexico came after two weeks of travel from northern New Mexico to Colorado, and then to several cities in Texas, with a return to Albuquerque about a week ago.

“I am gratified that Mr. Spoke is back in custody before getting himself into any more trouble,” said Secretary Dodson. “The message to him and to other youth in our custody is, if you try to run, we will find you, so your best bet is to complete your commitment with CYFD and be accountable for your actions.”

Spoke was booked into the Bernalillo County Juvenile Detention Center on Saturday night, and returned to CYFD’s custody today. He will appear before a Judge in Colfax County, the district from where he escaped, to answer to his escape charges within the next several days.
