We’ve just received confirmation (via Captain America) that Freddie Kekaulike Baker passed away on Monday. The singer and multi-instrumentalist was an oasis of Hawaiian music and exceptionally warm hospitality in Albuquerque, with popular, almost nightly engagements at the Townhouse Lounge, and, for years before that, the Polynesian Lounge at New Chinatown Restaurant.We hear there will be a memorial of some kind to be held at the Town House, but the plans aren’t finalized yet.
