It’s another marathon weekend for yours truly. Bachelor/bachelorette party, martial arts, swim meet, Chinese New Year celebration, laundry. Good thing I live for stress. It’s like nectar from the gods. Grab Your Harley and Ride —Take a Saturday morning ride and raise money for the Circle of Harmony HIV/AIDS Conference. Meet at Thunderbird Harley Davidson at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, for breakfast and entertainment, then ride—ride like the wind— to Traditions for more food and fun. Wise Fool —Help the awesome performers at Wise Fool New Mexico raise the rent with a cabaret dance party at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17. The suggested donation is $5-$15 but no one will be turned away. Here’s a brief list of performers: Tribe Phoenix, Dancers Jasmine Quinsier and Rain Willson, and Circus inspired artists Sarah Holmes and Chelsea Lauman. ¡explora! on President’s Day —Just a quick reminder that ¡explora! is open on President’s Day, Monday, Feb. 19, just in case your looking for something fun to do with the little ones. Mars Rover Mission —For another fun family event on President’s Day—a hands-on Mars activities, a Mars motion-simulation and more red planet fun from noon to 4 p.m. at the NM Museum of Natural History and Science in the LodeStar Astronomy Center (1801 Mountain NW). National Pancake Day —Don’t be hatin’. Get some free pancakes at your friendly neighborhood IHOP on Tuesday, Feb. 20, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The hot cakes are free, but (here’s the catch) they are asking for donations for the Shriner’s program. It’s also Shrove Tuesday. Mmmmm … lard ….
