When Film Editor Devin O’ Leary came into my office this afternoon and asked if I had heard about John Edwards’ Second Life campaign headquarters being vandalized, I must have looked altogether bewildered. He chuckled and gently explained to me that Second Life is some sort of parallel online universe, a big deal in Web-world. Sounds silly to me, but whatever. (After visiting the website, it actually looks really cool–even if I still think it’s silly.)Apparently, his story about the online Edwards HQ being vandalized is true–some cyber punks smeared it with Marxist/Lenninist posters and plopped a "feces spewing obscenity" on the "property," among other things. A few days later, one of the cyber punks confessed. Weird.
