Map Your Genome

It doesn’t seem that long ago when scientists were still trying to map the human genome–when the process seemed like a nearly impossible, Herculean task that our species would be laboring on for years to come. It was finished in 2003. Now scientists have set about mapping the genomes of individuals, starting with one of the discoverers of the structure of DNA, Dr. James Watson, and his ex-rival, Dr. J. Craig Venter, who headed a competitive human genome mapping project years ago.

Looks like it takes about $1 million to get your genome mapped (although I’m not sure how many people would want to … freaky). As this article says, there are estimates that it may soon "only" take $100,000, and within a few years a "mere" $10,000.
