The end of the summer always means three months of alcoholic leavings from various barbecues, late-night movie marathons, poolside beer-chugging parties and other (totally legal) alcohol-based events. My kitchen cabinet is the resting grounds of about 25 nearly finished bottles of delicious libations as most of my drinkin’ buddies are only in town for a few days. Great for me, right? Well, great if I drank alcohol like I drink espresso—lots of it, two to three times a day—but I’m more of a social drinker. The real result is a few shots of every hard liquor known to man just waiting to get someone sloshed sitting in my kitchen … waiting.

My summertime spoils? A half a bottle of Bacardi white rum, a one-third bottle of Stoli Blueberi vodka, six or so shots of Wild Turkey bourbon, an entirely unopened bottle of the Captain, a swig of Absolut Vanilia, some triple sec, a couple nearly finished bottles of tequila (100 percent agave), some untouched Malibu and drops of a few others hidden in my closet. Normally it would sit there until next summer, but this year I feel compelled to kill off my accrued collection. A delicious task made easier with the Webtender. This recipe generator offers up some interesting ideas, for example, the Poor Man’s Mommosa or some grog. Tonight, it’s mojitos. Tomorrow … well, I’ll just focus on getting through tonight.
