Perspective is the name of the game in quality media coverage. It’s often said that you must know where you’ve been to know where you’re going, and the Alibi couldn’t agree more. That’s why we have Professor Longbottom on staff as our official historian. Although, to be honest, things haven’t quite worked out as well as we’d hoped.

Longbottom isn’t all that versed in things like American or world history, referring to these very broad academic fields as "pop-history." Instead, Longbottom’s expertise lies in more obscure realms of history, his favorite of which is the study of formal changes in high medieval saints’ offices.

"I’m particularly interested in the stages of development of Saints Henry and Kunigunde of Bamberg," Longbottom explains. "People around the office look at me like I’m from another planet, but I mean it’s like, read a book sometime."

Longbottom comes across as a tad pretentious at times, which has caused friction between himself and some of the other staff. "Good God that guy’s boring," one staff member asserts. "The guy needs to get laid in a major way."
