The Theater embraced monumental volunteer effort as well as help from the local business community and the City of Albuquerque. Community love of the Theater and the people involved in it over the years proves that it’s a community space and with community effort, it is back in business! The EL REY THEATER & GOLDEN WEST SALOON is part of the historic Puccini Building, which has been family-owned since 1941 (with the Golden West being family owned since 1929). It’s location at 7th and Central makes it an anchor venue for the Arts & Entertainment District, which encompasses the area along Central, Gold and Copper Avenues between 1st and 8th Streets.
