With all the pissing back and forth over whether New Mexico officials did or did not turn on the lights in time for the PBR competition this weekend at Tingley, one freakin’ big thing is being overlooked. L.J. Jenkins, 19-year old from the tiny village of Texico, N.M., beat out Guilherme Marchi from Brazil, the No. 1 bull rider in the world. Earlier this year, Travis Briscoe (age 20) from Edgewood scored the highest ride in years on a massive bull named Copperhead Slinger.
